Sattva Vita Complementary Health Care Center , Costa Rica
Health care in Costa Rica today faces several major challenges. The national health care system, which serves the vast majority of the population, is overwhelmed by the rising costs of pharmaceutical drugs and medical technology and a massive influx of poor immigrants from surrounding countries. Increases in chronic and communicable diseases, such as cancer and HIV/AIDS, has placed further strains on the system.
In order to address this crisis, public health officials and medical colleges have demonstrated interest in complementary health treatments that are affordable and effective. The Sattva Vita Complementary Health Care Center was established as a model of integrated health care that could provide low cost, non invasive treatments for chronic and infectious diseases. By bringing together health professionals from different fields of complementary medicine, the Center will provide and promote an integrative, multipathic approach to health. Specifically, Sattva Vita will offer:
- Participatory, multipathic treatments that are affordable for the general public and will involve the patient, together with a team of diverse health professionals, in the process of diagnosis and treatment.
- Preventive therapies that teach patients how to develop healthy habits and achieve positive lifestyle changes.
- Research and development opportunities that will educate both professionals and the general public about successful applications of complementary health care.
- A broad range of treatments for both general ailments as well as chronic and degenerative illnesses, such as cancer, HIV/AIDS, and heart diseases.
Your contribution will help defray initial costs of equipment and support medical staff during the clinic's first year of operation while it becomes self-sufficient. |
